Job Title -Biomedical Engineer
Location - New York, Long Island & Manhattan
Duration – 12 months or Extended.
Rate - Depends on Experience
Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on biomedical equipment according tmanufacturer specifications and organizational policies.
- Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions promptly tminimize downtime and ensure patient safety.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and work performed.
- Installation and Calibration:
- Install new medical equipment, ensuring proper setup and functionality.
- Calibrate equipment tensure accurate operation and compliance with manufacturer guidelines and regulatory standards.
- Inspection and Testing:
- Conduct regular inspections and safety tests on biomedical equipment tensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Document and report any safety concerns or potential hazards identified during inspections.
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical support and training thealthcare staff on the proper use and maintenance of medical equipment.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues and provide guidance on best practices for equipment care.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain an inventory of biomedical equipment, spare parts, and supplies.
- Ensure that necessary parts and supplies are ordered and stocked tsupport ongoing maintenance and repair activities.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed about relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in biomedical engineering.
- Ensure that all biomedical equipment and maintenance activities comply with regulatory requirements, including those set by the FDA, OSHA, and other relevant bodies.
- Vendor Relations:
- Coordinate with equipment manufacturers and vendors for technical support, warranty service, and parts procurement.
- Manage service contracts and warranty agreements for biomedical equipment.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, inspections, and inventory.
- Prepare reports on equipment status, maintenance activities, and any incidents or issues for management review.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development tstay current with advancements in biomedical technology.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute tthe enhancement of maintenance protocols and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of medical equipment. Strong understanding of electronics and mechanical systems.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with healthcare staff and vendors.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate maintenance and repair records and compliance with safety standards.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively.
Work Environment:
- The role may require working in clinical and laboratory settings with exposure tpotentially hazardous materials.
- Occasional on-call duties and travel tmultiple healthcare facilities may be required.
